This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Foster positive relationships between the company and patients, providers, and payers by ensuring prompt, accurate, and courteous resolution of both telephone and written inquiries.
• Handle incoming calls from patients, insurance companies, physician offices, and healthcare facilities.
• Address inquiries and complaints related to billing, claims, claim denials, payments, and collections.
• Document customer interactions, resolutions, and any necessary forwarding actions.
• Resolve inquiries directly whenever feasible.
• Respond to written inquiries and inform patients of any delays in resolution.
• Clearly explain account situations in straightforward language.
• Complete assigned tasks within established timelines.
• Participate in in-service training and keep updated on contracts and procedures.
• Identify and report complaint trends to management.
• Uphold strict confidentiality standards.
• Record all actions in system notes.
• Deliver consistently positive, courteous, and personalized service.
• Achieve customer satisfaction and meet productivity/performance benchmarks.
• Comply with company policies and procedures.
• Execute additional duties as assigned.
• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• An associate’s degree in health or business administration, or a related field of study is preferred.
• Consideration will be given to an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• At least 1 year of experience in customer service or billing collections is preferred.
• Experience within a healthcare organization is preferred.
• Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is preferred.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Strong math skills, including the ability to calculate charges, payments, and adjustments.
• Familiarity with insurance processing, guidelines, and relevant laws concerning all payers.
• Ability to demonstrate proficiency with the IDX practice management system.
• Outstanding customer service abilities.
• Capability to effectively multitask.
• Proficient data entry skills.
• Basic knowledge of CPT, ICD-9, and ASA coding.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
• Excellent analytical skills.
• Friendly demeanor and a high tolerance level.
• Positive attitude towards teamwork and strong interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work efficiently and independently with minimal supervision.
• Commitment to maintaining confidentiality.
• Willingness to adhere to management directives and company policies.
• Capability to meet the physical demands of the position, with or without reasonable accommodations.
• Occasional standing and walking; frequent sitting and hand/finger movement; ability to operate office equipment and communicate both verbally and in writing.
