Patient Account Representative

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois, +2 more states.

📋 Description

• Oversee multi-channel inbound patient billing inquiries to guarantee prompt responses and accurate solutions.

• Collaborate with patients and insurance providers to address patient billing questions.

• Achieve individual and departmental objectives, including Average Handle Time, Service Level, Abandonment Rate, Call Quality, among others.

• Uphold the confidentiality of all patient data with a thorough understanding of HIPAA regulations.

• Exhibit adaptability to accommodate the needs of both internal and external customers, including adjustments to workflows, workload, and schedules.

• Execute additional responsibilities as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• 2–4 years of experience in a healthcare setting is required, ideally in billing, front office administration, or call centers.

• Proficient in reading and interpreting insurance Explanation of Benefits (EOBs).

• Exceptional conflict resolution abilities.

• Capacity to juggle multiple tasks while ensuring the highest quality in every patient interaction.

• High School diploma or GED is essential.

• Ability to remain seated for 3–4 hours consecutively.

• Fine motor skills necessary for typing.

• Clear verbal communication skills to ensure understanding by others.

• Ability to listen and comprehend spoken communication effectively.

• Capacity to view a computer monitor and small objects from a few feet away.

• Must uphold the confidentiality of patient information and be knowledgeable about HIPAA standards.
