This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Massachusetts.
• Assist in Radiology Scheduling as a Patient Access Representative.
• Register patients upon arrival and clarify the registration process.
• Handle patient co-payments, co-insurance, deductibles, and balances, while reconciling the cash drawer.
• Aid patients with kiosk check-in procedures.
• Complete Medicare Secondary Payer Questionnaires and make necessary coverage adjustments.
• Collect and process signatures along with required registration documents.
• Provide guidance to patients regarding services that are not covered, ABNs, consents, and waivers.
• Oversee the waiting area to ensure a smooth and pleasant registration experience.
• Address patient concerns and potential safety matters.
• Keep the registration desk organized and protect confidential information.
• Schedule, reschedule, and cancel appointments through calls, digital messages, orders, work queues, questionnaires, and searches.
• Implement clinical department scheduling protocols and escalate issues as necessary.
• Capture and verify physician, insurance, demographic, and contact details.
• Communicate appointment and patient-care matters to Patient Access management.
• Adhere to confidentiality and equipment-security protocols while working remotely.
• Maintain productivity, quality, and accuracy, and communicate regularly with the Supervisor and Manager.
• Complete pre-registration, guarantor assignment, insurance verification, and financial clearance tasks.
• Inform patients of their financial responsibilities and schedule Financial Counseling appointments as required.
• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• An Associate’s degree is preferred.
• 1-3 years of relevant work experience.
• Proficiency with computer systems is necessary, including web-based applications and some Microsoft Office software, such as Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, or Access.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment, with some independent decision-making skills.
• Capable of processing electronic information and data with accuracy and efficiency.
• Experience in a Call Center and/or telephone customer service is preferred.
• Strong typing abilities, with a preference for 40+ wpm.
• Familiarity with medical terminology is preferred.
• Bilingual written and verbal communication skills are preferred.
• Experience with EHR software is preferred.
• Comprehensive training, including instruction on Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems, is provided.
• Influenza vaccination is required as a condition of employment.
