This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Conduct admissions tasks for pre-admission and face-to-face patient registration.
• Facilitate patient access while securing demographic and financial registration data.
• Execute registration, pre-registration, insurance verification, eligibility verification, Workers Compensation eligibility, and collection of cash deposits.
• Carry out registration tasks across various patient access areas and maintain proficiency in at least three patient access functions or areas.
• Obtain financial clearance and assess patients' financial classifications.
• Verify insurance coverage electronically, by phone, or via product websites.
• Search for or assign unique medical record numbers and adhere to patient identification policies.
• Choose physicians and address issues related to physician privileging, suspension, and credentialing.
• Conduct sensitive patient interviews and manage routine inquiries from patients, representatives, and insurance providers.
• Appropriately escalate issues while explaining patient financial responsibilities and collecting payments.
• Resolve QA error worklists on a daily basis.
• Collaborate with physicians and specialty departments to ensure the accuracy of registration information.
• Clarify registration and consent forms and secure necessary signatures.
• Organize registration documents and scan them into the designated scanning system.
• Navigate and input patient and financial information into the ADT system.
• Uphold patient confidentiality and adhere to CSMC and HIPAA privacy regulations.
• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• A Bachelor's Degree in Hospital Administration or a related field is preferred.
• A minimum of one (1) year of experience in healthcare, specifically in Patient Access, Registration, Financial Clearance, Scheduling, or roles related to the Revenue Cycle is required.
• Relevant experience may include positions within physician offices, healthcare insurance companies, or other functions connected to the revenue cycle.
