Pashto VRI/OPI Interpreter

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Respond to calls in a professional manner, adhering to the Interpreter's code of conduct.

• Always be prepared to take notes during calls.

• Familiarize yourself with the specific vocabulary relevant to the healthcare and medical fields—training will be provided.

• Accurately render all messages in their entirety, without adding, omitting, or substituting any content.

• Deliver the highest standard of customer service while interpreting.

• Facilitate effective communication between Limited English Proficient individuals and clients by providing accurate and complete interpretation of messages.

• Adhere to established standards of practice.

• Participate in internal professional training sessions.

• Show eagerness to obtain new professional certifications.

• Communicate and report effectively to your team leader.

• Follow dress code guidelines for video remote interpreting.

⛳️ Requirements

• Fluent in the source language (English) and a native speaker of the target language "Pashto."

• A minimum of 1 year of telephone interpretation experience with a reputable interpretation company is advantageous, though not mandatory.

• A solid understanding of medical terminology is beneficial, but not required.

• Awareness of legal terminology is a plus.

• International certifications in the healthcare sector are advantageous (e.g., PICSI, ALTA, HIPAA, etc.).

• A high school diploma in your native language is required.

• Strong emotional intelligence and an appreciation for diverse cultures.

• Excellent communication, listening, note-taking, and memory retention skills.
