This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Deliver timely and meaningful feedback to students regarding their assessment activities.
• Foster a positive, safe, and inclusive learning environment that prioritizes student needs.
• Meet all deadlines for required tasks, including final grades, assessments, grading rubrics, and input for grade appeals.
• Engage in necessary professional training and/or scholarly activities, as applicable.
• Offer constructive feedback to the course lead about course content.
• Recognize at-risk students and work in collaboration with student services.
• Collaborate closely with the Academic Program Director and other faculty members within the program.
• Enhance program quality, student engagement, and overall student success.
• A minimum of a master's degree in education or a related field from an accredited institution.
• Possession of a current and active California Single Subject Teaching Credential.
• Familiarity with California frameworks, standards, assessment systems, and current educational initiatives.
• Over 5 years of secondary classroom teaching experience (grades 6-12) in a Single Subject area.
• At least 3 years of secondary classroom teaching within the last 5 years, showcasing current knowledge of instructional practices, student engagement strategies, curriculum standards, and assessment methods.
• Experience in mentoring, coaching, supervising, or supporting teacher candidates, novice teachers, or interns.
• Experience in higher education teaching within teacher preparation, especially in methods, clinical practice, supervision, or field experience courses.
• Proven ability to use data to enhance instruction and improve candidate performance.
• Understanding of teacher performance assessments (such as CalTPA or similar).
• Experience supporting diverse student populations, including English learners and students with disabilities.
• Experience working with adult learners and leading professional learning for educators.
• Demonstrated proficiency in instructional technology and educational AI tools, ensuring responsible, ethical, and effective integration into teaching and learning.
• Preferred: experience in teacher leadership roles.
• Preferred: experience collaborating with schools, districts, and community partners.
