Part-time Faculty, Education Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Instruct courses centered on clinical practice and capstone courses for students pursuing an Education Specialist teaching credential.

• Actively engage with students, offering meaningful and prompt feedback to motivate them towards achieving course and program objectives.

• Collaborate closely with faculty members within the discipline as well as Clinical Practice faculty and staff.

• Teach designated courses within a specific programmatic core discipline.

• Serve as a bridge between students and their clinical placement locations.

• Assess and provide feedback on recorded teaching demonstrations.

• Fulfill necessary tasks by set deadlines, including final grades, assessments, grading rubrics, and contributions for grade appeals.

• Maintain relevant professional training and/or scholarly activities as applicable.

• Offer feedback to the course lead concerning course content.

• Identify at-risk students and work in conjunction with student services.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Master’s degree or higher in special education or a related discipline.

• A valid and clear California education specialist or special education teaching credential from the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC).

• Over 5 years of experience teaching students with disabilities in a California public school environment, grades TK-22.

• Proficiency in widely-used internet tools such as Zoom.

• Up-to-date knowledge in special education, diversity, and instructional design.

• Must reside in and be eligible to work in California as a current educator in NORTHERN California.

• Unofficial transcripts of the highest degree obtained are required at the time of application.

• A cover letter is mandatory.

• A curriculum vitae is required.

• A statement of teaching experience for a diverse student body, available online and/or onsite, is necessary.

• Three letters of reference are required.
