This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.
• Oversee the financial and accounting functions associated with the company’s managed property portfolio.
• Ensure precise accounting records for all managed properties and accurately document transactions in the accounting system.
• Administer service charge accounting, which includes the preparation, recording, and reconciliation of service charge transactions.
• Create monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for management assessment.
• Process supplier invoices, validate supporting documentation, secure approvals, and categorize invoices to the appropriate property and cost category.
• Prepare and execute supplier payment runs in accordance with established company protocols.
• Conduct bank reconciliations and investigate as well as resolve any outstanding or unreconciled items.
• Reconcile supplier, general ledger, service charge, and other pertinent balance sheet accounts.
• Prepare and post accruals, prepayments, journals, and other month-end accounting adjustments.
• Assist in formulating annual service charge budgets for each managed property.
• Track property expenditures against approved budgets and generate variance analyses and explanations.
• Aid in year-end service charge reconciliations, financial schedules, and supporting documentation.
• Maintain well-organized financial records and provide documentation to external accountants, auditors, and professional advisers.
• Assist management with cash-flow monitoring, financial analysis, ad hoc reporting, and enhancements to accounting processes and internal controls.
• Collaborate closely with property managers and suppliers.
• A degree, diploma, or professional qualification in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
• ACCA, ACA, CIMA, CPA, or an equivalent qualification, or progress toward a professional qualification is advantageous.
• Prior accounting experience, ideally within property management, real estate, facilities management, construction, or a related field.
• Experience in managing accounts across multiple properties or cost centres is a plus.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
• Familiarity with accounting or property management software is preferred.
• Strong numerical and analytical capabilities.
• Exceptional accuracy and attention to detail.
• Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial controls.
• Strong reconciliation and problem-solving abilities.
• Capability to manage multiple properties, accounts, and reporting deadlines.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with property managers and suppliers.
• Capacity to work independently as well as part of a team.
• High degree of integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
• Availability Monday to Friday between 9am and 6pm UK (4 hours).
• Must have a personal computer or laptop.
• ADSL/FIBRE internet connection required.
• Headphones necessary for use with the company VOIP phone system.
• Anti-virus software must be installed.
• UPS/Back-up Battery required for load shedding (NON-NEGOTIABLE).
