This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Malaysia.
• Record and manage vendor invoices and payments.
• Monitor and document prepaid activities.
• Enter monthly payroll activities and accruals into the general ledger.
• Conduct fixed asset accounting.
• Prepare reconciliations for the balance sheet.
• Compile reporting schedules for quarterly and annual filings of foreign subsidiaries.
• Work alongside Accounts Payable, Payroll, Tax, and Treasury teams to facilitate daily operations and ensure accurate accounting entries.
• Liaise with third-party accounting firms for timely tax, audit, and statutory reporting.
• Maintain documentation for internal controls in compliance with the Sarbanes-Oxley Act.
• Identify areas for improving accounting processes to reduce errors and minimize processing time.
• Engage in the implementation and continuous enhancement of the company’s ERP system.
• Undertake special projects and ad hoc analyses as needed.
• Report directly to the Senior Manager of International Accounting.
• Collaborate with the parent company on recording daily transactions for multiple legal entities.
• Contribute to the timely and efficient monthly close and financial reporting.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
• Over 5 years of experience in accounting or at an audit firm.
• Familiarity with US GAAP reporting and public company standards (Sarbanes-Oxley, SEC, etc.) is advantageous.
• Knowledge of various local accounting requirements is a plus.
• Experience with Microsoft Dynamics AX / D365 and/or BlackLine is beneficial.
• Experience working with foreign subsidiaries and currency translation.
• Strong analytical, technical accounting, and problem-solving capabilities.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel.
• Highly detail-oriented and well-organized.
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
• Capacity to meet strict, time-sensitive deadlines.
• Strong multitasking abilities and flexibility to quickly switch between projects.
• Skill in producing complex, detailed accounting reconciliations that are easily interpretable by auditors.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Understanding of debits and credits, along with the multidimensional impact on the balance sheet, P&L, and cash flow statement.
• Knowledge of how journal entries influence each financial statement.
