This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee contract negotiations with higher education partners involving new sales agreements, renewals, and RFP submissions.
• Handle the complete contract lifecycle: drafting, redlining, negotiation, internal approval, execution, and tracking of renewals.
• Respond to redlines swiftly, balancing legal and business risks with the pace of the deal.
• Make independent and practical decisions regarding contract terms within established risk thresholds, escalating matters only when absolutely necessary.
• Act as the main point of contact with partner institutions’ procurement and legal departments, guiding contracts through their internal approval workflows.
• Create and maintain a system for tracking essential contract information, including renewal dates, terms, obligations, and risk indicators.
• Collaborate with the Controller and Finance team to ensure contract terms are in alignment with billing, revenue recognition, and budgetary requirements.
• Assist with the setup of billing plans and collections efforts as necessary.
• Enhance and maintain contract templates, playbooks, and negotiation processes.
• Identify and address process bottlenecks within the contract-to-cash workflow, recommending enhancements.
• Demonstrated experience in negotiating and managing contracts from start to finish, preferably in a B2B, SaaS, or higher education setting.
• Familiarity with institutional procurement and/or legal review processes (higher education experience is highly desirable but not mandatory).
• Strong paralegal and organizational abilities, with a capacity to track and report on contract data across a portfolio.
• Comfort in making practical business judgment calls on contract terms instead of defaulting to escalation.
• Experience in billing, invoicing, or collections processes, or a keen interest in developing these skills.
• Proficiency with Salesforce (or similar CRM) for contract tracking and reporting purposes.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the confidence to negotiate effectively with both legal and non-legal stakeholders.
• A collaborative approach with low ego.
• Ability to manage a substantial volume of simultaneous negotiations without losing sight of the details.
• Competitive salary plus annual bonus.
• Flexible PTO and options for hybrid/remote work.
• Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance.
• 401(k) plan with a generous company match and access to financial planning resources.
• Company-sponsored life and disability insurance.
• A collaborative, purpose-driven work culture.
