Overnight Telepsychiatry PMHNP – 7-on / 7-off

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Maryland.

📋 Description

• Deliver virtual psychiatric consultations for emergency departments across the University of Maryland Capital Region Health facilities.

• Perform timely and thorough virtual psychiatric assessments for patients in emergency departments.

• Assess the appropriate level of care, including determining between inpatient admission and safe discharge from the ED.

• Collaborate directly with ED providers to develop treatment plans.

• Complete both voluntary and involuntary commitment documentation with ED providers.

• Enter initial admission orders for patients transitioning to the inpatient unit at Capital Region Medical Center.

• Provide cross-coverage for the inpatient behavioral health unit at CRMC.

• Respond to secure text messages and nursing requests, including processing medication orders.

• Work alongside Hospital Medicine and other specialties to address complex patient care needs.

• Uphold clinical turnaround times and documentation standards within Epic.

⛳️ Requirements

• A valid Maryland state PMHNP license in good standing.

• Comfort and proficiency in using EMR systems, with a preference for Epic experience.

• Proficiency in utilizing telehealth platforms.

• Strong decision-making abilities in high-acuity emergency and inpatient psychiatric environments.

• Qualification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP).

• Availability to work overnight shifts from 5:00 PM to 8:00 AM.

• Manage an average of 3–5 telepsychiatry consultations per night.
