Outside Property Claim Representative

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Connecticut.

📋 Description

• Oversee, evaluate, negotiate, and resolve first-party property claims.

• Conduct in-person inspections at customer residences and properties.

• Review, investigate, and document property claims with limited supervision.

• Collect information from policyholders, claimants, and third-party vendors.

• Analyze leases, contracts, bylaws, and other pertinent documents.

• Determine coverage for property damages in accordance with policy terms.

• Establish scopes of damage for both building and contents losses.

• Prepare written and computer-assisted estimates with guidance from management.

• Engage professionally with customers, representatives, vendors, and internal stakeholders.

• Negotiate with contractors and insured representatives.

• Keep accurate records of claim activities in claim management systems.

• Adjust to technology implementations, system upgrades, and AI-related digital tools.

• Obtain and maintain necessary insurance licenses and/or UAS Remote Pilot Certification.

• Inspect all areas of dwellings and structures, including roofs, attics, and crawl spaces.

• Travel extensively, including overnight stays, to assist customers across various locations.

• Perform other assigned duties.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree.

• Minimum of two years of experience in property claims.

• Active adjuster license, where applicable.

• Proficiency in claims management and estimating software.

• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office and enterprise technology systems and platforms.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

• Ability to use sound judgment and make effective decisions.

• Exceptional customer service capabilities.

• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.

• Proven conflict resolution skills.

• Ability to handle stress and maintain professionalism under pressure.

• Basic understanding of insurance principles, terminology, state insurance regulations, and claim handling requirements.

• High School Diploma or GED required.

• One year of experience in property or a comparable claim-related role, or successful completion of the required Travelers Claim Representative training program.

• Valid driver's license.

• Must obtain and maintain relevant insurance licenses and/or UAS Remote Pilot Certification within three months of starting the position.

• Capability to inspect roofs, attics, crawl spaces, and confined areas.

• Ability to carry, set up, and climb ladders weighing approximately 38–49 pounds.

• Must live in or be willing to relocate at personal expense to the designated Fairfield, Connecticut territory.
