Outpatient Surgery Coder – Hospital

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Evaluate, interpret, and allocate codes according to relevant coding standards and criteria for outpatient medical record documentation.

• Code medical, diagnostic, and surgical records.

• Assign accurate ICD-10-CM and/or CPT-4 HCPCS codes.

• Hold primary coding accountability for Hospital Outpatient Surgery, Wound Care, and Observation.

⛳️ Requirements

• A high school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) is mandatory.

• Previous coding experience in a hospital setting is essential.

• One or more certifications must be obtained upon hire: RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CCA, CCS-P, CPC, CPC-A, CPC-H, or a coding certificate program accredited by AHIMA.

• Experience in coding within a multi-hospital organization is preferred.

• Prior remote coding experience is preferred.
