This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Michigan.
• Provide comprehensive operational leadership for designated outsourced outpatient CDI engagements, encompassing both supplemental and total outsourcing programs.
• Collaborate with Consulting Services to enhance revenue objectives and ensure client satisfaction.
• Act as the main escalation point for issues related to performance, quality, and vendor management.
• Establish and nurture partnerships with contracted vendors and internal stakeholders.
• Ensure that outpatient CDI operations achieve or surpass quality, productivity, and turnaround time benchmarks.
• Track operational metrics, trends, and KPIs; identify risks and potential areas for improvement.
• Formulate and execute corrective action plans addressing performance deficiencies or compliance issues.
• Guarantee compliance with ICD‑10‑CM/CPT guidelines, APC methodologies, and relevant regulatory standards.
• Directly oversee and manage the assigned outpatient CDI team.
• Offer coaching, mentoring, training, and performance assessments.
• Assign work tasks, monitor progress, and carry out performance evaluations.
• Handle employee-related processes, including compensation input, performance reviews, and policy enforcement.
• Ensure adherence to corporate policies, security protocols, and pertinent regulatory requirements.
• Address policy violations consistently and promptly.
• Foster a culture of quality, accountability, and continuous improvement.
• A Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited institution along with 7 years of experience in outpatient CDI management, OR a High School Diploma/GED coupled with 12 years of outpatient CDI management experience.
• RHIA or CCS certification is required.
• CCDS-O, CRC, or RAC certification is preferred as an additional credential.
• At least 5 years of experience in outpatient CDI is necessary.
• Familiarity with ICD‑10‑CM/CPT and APC methodologies is essential.
• Experience in clinical documentation improvement and revenue cycle processes is required.
• Knowledge of quality-of-care metrics, such as outpatient HEDIS and OQR, is important.
• Must possess legal authorization to work in the country of employment without the need for employment visa sponsorship.
• Willingness to travel up to 50% domestically and internationally is necessary.
