Oracle Cloud Specialist, OCI

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Act as a specialist in Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), establishing standards, principles, and architectural roadmaps for cloud solutions.

• Engage in digital transformation and migration projects to OCI, encompassing hybrid and multicloud settings.

• Convert business requirements into technical solutions, assisting stakeholders in making informed technology choices with comprehensive evaluations of costs, risks, and alternatives.

• Oversee and enhance Oracle Database and Exadata environments, focusing on performance, capacity, patching, upgrades, and backup and restore strategies.

• Design and validate architectures for high availability and disaster recovery, incorporating RAC, Data Guard, Autonomous Database, and Exadata Cloud.

• Plan and implement intricate changes and deployments through the structured change management process (GMUD), including a tested rollback plan and a mutually agreed-upon change window with relevant teams.

• Serve as the N3 escalation point for incidents related to OCI, Exadata, or database systems.

• Ensure adherence to OCI best practices in terms of security, identity management, governance, and observability.

• Implement comprehensive instrumentation for all developed components: monitoring, alerts, and runbooks are essential prerequisites for production deployment.

• Maintain strong relationships with Oracle, staying informed about new features, roadmaps, strategic initiatives, and critical support cases.

• Keep clear and auditable architectural documentation that aligns with corporate frameworks.

• Contribute to the advancement of the organization's cloud services portfolio.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline.

• Demonstrated experience in solution architecture and cloud computing, with a strong focus on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).

• Practical experience with Exadata environments, covering operations, performance, patching, or migration tasks.

• In-depth knowledge of OCI services, such as Compute, Networking, Storage, IAM, Autonomous Database, Exadata Cloud, Object Storage, and observability.

• Strong understanding of high-availability, disaster recovery, and cloud security architectures.

• Experience with infrastructure as code, utilizing Terraform or OCI Resource Manager.

• Experience in critical environments with regulated change windows and formal incident management and root cause analysis processes.

• Executive-level communication skills, capable of articulating technical risks and trade-offs to non-technical leaders clearly.

• Preferred: Oracle Cloud Infrastructure certifications, such as Architect Professional, Autonomous Database, or Observability.

• Preferred: Familiarity with Exadata Cloud@Customer or ExaDB-D.

• Preferred: Multicloud experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP, alongside cross-platform integration.

• Preferred: Understanding of FinOps applied to Oracle, including licensing, BYOL, and OCPU sizing, as well as SRE practices like SLI/SLOs and error budgets.
