This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.

📋 Description

• Serve as an electrical subject matter expert, delivering technical expertise, processes, and tools to site operations teams.

• Assist in the design of new campuses, system operations, incident root-cause investigations, training, vendor management, maintenance optimization, and troubleshooting.

• Establish operational standards and functional requirements for capital projects.

• Examine drawings, contract documents, and customer requirements to ensure compliance with electrical technical standards and updates for capital projects.

• Guarantee that critical infrastructure is dependable, efficient, and in line with sustainability objectives.

• Develop training and development materials for operations and facilitate training for operations staff.

• Conduct training sessions, drills, and monitored evolutions at Aligned sites.

• Mentor and help cultivate high-potential personnel.

• Create frameworks for site performance analytics, failure analysis, and issue resolution.

• Enhance the performance of critical systems, optimize water and electrical usage, and improve infrastructure reliability.

• Promote a safety culture and minimize risks and injuries to personnel.

• Formulate industry-leading operational processes and procedures.

• Ensure compliance with operational standards, policies, and procedures through documentation reviews, maintenance activities, and data center audits.

• Develop business continuity planning and runbook standards encompassing site management, vendor management, maintenance, alarms, incidents, and compliance.

• Oversee projects and provide technical support for complex tasks.

• Manage the triage and recovery of critical equipment or systems during incidents.

• Conduct root-cause analyses and lead in-depth investigations of incidents.

• Analyze incidents and equipment failures to detect trends, lessons learned, and areas for improvement.

• Collaborate with industry professionals and vendors on emerging technologies.

• Lead the technical review and validation of new technologies.

• Offer technical guidance in assessing sustainable practices.

• Effectively communicate complex topics to senior leadership, the Board of Directors, and teams with varying levels of technical expertise.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in the electrical industry or equivalent electrical trade experience.

• A Bachelor’s degree in a related field along with 4+ years of pertinent electrical or power generation industry experience will be accepted in lieu of 8+ years of electrical industry experience.

• Designation as a subject matter expert in electrical equipment and systems.

• Advanced skills in interpreting construction drawings and equipment specifications.

• Capability to analyze critical infrastructure operational sequences, design parameters, alarms and indicators, and performance trends.

• Subject matter expertise throughout the lifecycle of data center operations, including design, acceptance, operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and incident management.

• Proven ability to create standards and programs for top-tier data center operations.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.

• Strong customer service orientation.

• Willingness to travel occasionally, up to 30%.
