This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Lead and mentor a team of registered principals responsible for the review and approval of brokerage, advisory, mutual fund, and variable product applications.
• Supervise the review of new account applications to ensure they are complete, accurate, appropriate, and compliant.
• Provide guidance on escalated, complex, or higher-risk account-opening decisions.
• Ensure the consistent application of suitability, supervisory, KYC/AML, and account-eligibility standards.
• Maintain established review standards, procedures, escalation protocols, approval criteria, supervisory controls, and documentation.
• Collaborate with Operations, Compliance, Legal, and Risk teams to address account-opening challenges.
• Advocate for the adoption of AI technology and promote ongoing improvement initiatives.
• Monitor application volumes, turnaround times, quality metrics, exceptions, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
• Conduct quality assurance reviews to detect trends, deficiencies, training requirements, and control weaknesses.
• Act as an escalation point for complex issues related to customers, accounts, products, ownership, restrictions, or suitability.
• Facilitate training sessions for registered principals and personnel involved in account opening.
• Assist with regulatory examinations, internal audits, compliance assessments, and management reporting.
• Stay informed about relevant securities regulations, FINRA rules, company policies, and industry practices.
• 5-7 years of supervisory experience within a broker-dealer or compliance environment.
• Required to hold FINRA Series 24 registration.
• Strong understanding of suitability, supervisory practices, and FINRA/SEC requirements.
• Ability to interpret regulations and company policies pertaining to account-review decisions.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience in broker-dealer, RIA, bank-affiliated brokerage, or other regulated financial services.
• Familiarity with account-opening and suitability systems.
• Experience in supporting regulatory examinations or audits.
