This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Collaborate with stakeholders throughout the organization to facilitate NWF's pursuit of operational excellence.
• Create guidance documents.
• Map processes and analyze data to identify impacts or areas of concern.
• Develop strategies to assist leadership in decision-making.
• Directly report to the Senior Director of Program Operations while partnering with program leaders.
• Engage with Finance, Philanthropy, Legal, Human Resources, and Accounts Payable.
• Establish operational performance metrics in conjunction with program and advocacy teams.
• Aid teams in visualizing data to pinpoint budget risks or resource opportunities.
• Analyze data and offer insights for strategic operational choices.
• Report on program operational health and performance to leadership.
• Manage Airtable bases, ensure data integrity, and conduct training on bases.
• Map processes and identify bottlenecks with various teams.
• Recommend process enhancements and oversee their implementation.
• Document best practices, process guidelines, and standard operating procedures.
• Create onboarding materials, standardized templates, and workflows for Program Operations.
• Train program operations leaders on new processes and systems.
• Facilitate training for new Program Operations staff alongside their managers.
• Lead teams in addressing complex or urgent operational challenges.
• Provide additional support for budget and grant management as needed.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field such as business administration or finance.
• Over 5 years of relevant experience in financial management, operations, or administration, ideally within a nonprofit environment.
• Experience in federal grant management is advantageous.
• At least 2 years of experience in influencing others, with either direct or indirect authority, to achieve common objectives.
• Ability to adapt to changing priorities and learn new processes and software comfortably.
• Proven project management skills while collaborating across multidisciplinary teams, preferably in operations.
• Proficient in analyzing datasets, synthesizing data, and presenting findings to leadership.
• Strong communication skills, capable of simplifying complex technical concepts for a general audience.
• Experience in gathering information from teams while minimizing their workload.
• Recognized as a changemaker with a proactive, solutions-focused attitude.
• Skilled in collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to achieve project outcomes.
• High proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including MS Word and PowerPoint.
• Advanced Excel capabilities, including formula writing and data manipulation.
• Experience and ability to work with Smartsheet, Airtable, or similar project management tools.
• Driven by equity and a commitment to marginalized communities.
• Possess empathy and strong interpersonal skills.
• Dedicated to an environmental justice approach in policy priorities, program development, and partner engagement.
