Operations Manager – Last Mile

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Kansas, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Manage the daily operations of contract carriers, which includes overseeing contractor schedules, monitoring routes, generating reports, and fostering relationships with carriers and helpers.

• Cultivate and mentor team members while providing training on company policies and procedures.

• Handle the processes of interviewing, hiring, disciplinary actions, and resolving issues.

• Ensure adherence to corporate warehouse policies, procedures, and programs.

• Supervise staff, including planning, assigning, and directing tasks; evaluating performance; rewarding and disciplining personnel; and addressing complaints.

• Utilize route planning software to create efficient delivery routes.

• Oversee the dispatch of contract carriers and troubleshoot issues throughout the day.

• Identify areas for improvement and reorganize routes to enhance operational efficiency.

• Train and develop contract carriers and dispatchers to align with customer expectations.

• Confirm that work is performed accurately and within set timeframes.

• Ensure photographs are captured for every job completed.

• Allocate and request additional resources as necessary.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of relevant logistics and supervisory experience.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Outlook, and Excel.

• Flexibility to work various shifts, including holidays, days, evenings, nights, and weekends.

• Willingness to travel occasionally between branches and regions.

• Experience in mentoring, training, and guiding newer or less experienced team members.

• Strong business acumen with a readiness to collaborate with management teams.

• Bachelor’s degree in business, logistics, or a related field (preferred).

• Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish, including reading, writing, and speaking both languages (preferred).
