This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.
• Oversee the daily operational activities of EHF across various departments and regions.
• Create and uphold operating rhythms for ongoing priorities, deadlines, reviews, and follow-ups.
• Define clear workflows, ownership responsibilities, deadlines, and escalation procedures.
• Efficiently address routine operational challenges and escalate issues that need senior leadership or specialized expertise.
• Manage recruitment processes, onboarding and offboarding, contractor administration, performance and training cycles, and implementation of approved policies.
• Supervise assigned operational support and assess workload and capacity.
• Ensure that staff have the necessary systems, information, and support to perform effectively.
• Take ownership of EHF’s operational systems, documentation standards, and knowledge management strategies.
• Keep SOPs and the Operations Manual up to date and practical.
• Oversee operational systems and guarantee compliance with access and data management practices.
• Identify ways to streamline workflows and enhance system utilization.
• Collaborate with the Finance Associate, accountants, and external finance advisors on financial processes.
• Manage procurement, vendor onboarding, contract, and renewal procedures.
• Monitor compliance with contracts, renewal requirements, responsible parties, and deadlines.
• Act as the central point of operational coordination across Programs, Development, Communications, and leadership.
• Maintain awareness of priorities, dependencies, capacity, and operational risks.
• Provide succinct operational reports to leadership.
• Convert decisions into actionable steps and completed tasks.
• At least 5 years of experience in nonprofit, business, or organizational operations, including a management role.
• Proven experience managing day-to-day operations across various functional areas.
• Strong project management skills with a history of successfully completing complex tasks.
• Familiarity with People Operations, organizational systems, vendor contracts, and financial management.
• Proven ability to enhance workflows, documentation, and system adoption.
• Excellent judgment, discretion, and the ability to differentiate between routine issues and those requiring escalation.
• Outstanding organizational, communication, and follow-through skills, with the ability to hold colleagues constructively accountable.
• Comfortable working independently in a remote, dynamic, and globally distributed organization.
• Experience with project management, HR, CRM, financial administration, and document management systems.
• Strong contextual understanding of Africa and a deep alignment with the organization’s mission and values.

• Occasional travel may be necessary.
• Flexible working hours that align with major organizational deadlines.

• Regular overlap of working hours between the UK and US.
• Performance reviews conducted at 3 and 6 months.
