Operations Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Assume full responsibility for the daily operations across development teams, teams that maintain existing games, and shared specialist support.

• Conduct weekly check-ins with team leads to grasp their needs, tackle issues, and ensure they are resolved.

• Facilitate brief company-wide morning meetings and transition to team leads for development discussions.

• Address operational challenges, including staffing shortages, lack of access, and ambiguous responsibilities.

• Aggregate priorities from team leads and provide directors with a comprehensive overview of issues needing attention.

• Manage routine matters within defined responsibilities while appropriately escalating critical issues.

• Develop onboarding processes and prepare new team leads and developers for their roles.

• Establish new teams and oversee the operational aspects of team formations or closures.

• Collaborate with the recruitment team on hiring needs and staffing choices.

• Address sensitive team matters, including departures and replacements.

• Oversee confidential company accounts and permissions, encompassing Roblox projects, tools, and resources.

• Organize Discord, documentation, and operational information effectively.

• Maintain communication among game teams, shared specialists, and the brand team.

• Identify unresolved issues and recurring challenges to implement practical operational enhancements.

⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive experience in managing operations across various teams.

• Proven experience collaborating directly with founders or directors and supporting team managers.

• Strong track record of taking ownership of operational challenges and driving them to resolution.

• Experience in implementing processes, managing onboarding, and fostering organizational growth.

• Good judgment when dealing with sensitive information, staff issues, and competing priorities.

• Confidence in addressing staffing challenges and engaging in difficult conversations.

• Clear communication skills and the ability to summarize team priorities for directors.

• Capacity to work independently within defined responsibilities and recognize when escalation is necessary.

• Friendly demeanor that encourages team members to raise questions or concerns comfortably.

• Commitment to taking personal responsibility for practical details and broader operational duties.

• Experience in a game studio or another creative or tech-related business is advantageous.

• Familiarity with Roblox and Discord is a plus.

• Must reside in the UK and possess the right to work there.
