Operations Lead

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ohio, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Oversee daily operational support tasks to ensure the stability, availability, and continuity of the REMIS system.

• Facilitate sustainment efforts across various areas including database administration, systems administration, cybersecurity/IA, testing and validation, development support, business intelligence/functional support, and configuration management/documentation.

• Ensure that operational support meets contractual service expectations, adheres to operational procedures, and aligns with mission requirements.

• Assist in maintaining continuity of operations during transitions, onboarding, releases, and modernization efforts.

• Direct the coordination of operational incidents, manage issue triage, escalation processes, and service restoration.

• Oversee cross-functional efforts to resolve operational issues and events that impact production.

• Monitor operational risks, recurring problems, and service performance trends.

• Aid in root cause analysis and coordination of corrective actions.

• Act as the integration point for operations support, Agile development, Platform/DevSecOps, and government stakeholders.

• Manage operational readiness for deployments, releases, environmental changes, and sustainment initiatives.

• Maintain awareness of operational status, risks, issues, escalations, and support activities.

• Assist in the development of dashboards, metrics, AIR logs, and status reports.

• Communicate operational status updates to Program Management and government stakeholders.

• Keep operational procedures, support documentation, and sustainment processes up to date.

• Identify and pursue opportunities to enhance operational efficiency, automation, monitoring, and responsiveness in support.

• Support Agile, DevSecOps, and CI/CD operational methodologies.

• Collaborate with engineering and platform teams to enhance operational readiness and deployment quality.

• Contribute to lessons learned initiatives, continuous improvement efforts, and operational maturity advancements.

⛳️ Requirements

• Possess a Secret clearance; must be fully cleared with active confirmation required.

• Hold a DoD 8140 intermediate certification or DoD 8570 IAM Level II certification or higher.

• Applicants must be U.S. Citizens only.

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field, or an equivalent level of experience.

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in supporting enterprise operational environments, production support, or IT sustainment activities.

• Proven experience in coordinating operational support activities across various technical disciplines.

• Experience with mission-critical or high-availability systems is essential.

• Strong knowledge of operational support processes, issue management, and sustainment coordination.

• Familiarity with working in Agile or hybrid Agile delivery environments.

• Excellent communication, organizational, and coordination abilities.

• Capable of managing competing priorities within fast-paced operational settings.

• Preferred: experience collaborating with Agile development teams of 20+ FTEs and familiarity with Agile methodologies.

• Preferred: previous experience supporting the Department of Defense or Air Force.

• Preferred: experience with enterprise systems in secure cloud or hybrid environments.

• Preferred: knowledge of DevSecOps, CI/CD, or contemporary operational support models.

• Preferred: experience using Jira, Confluence, Service Management, or similar operational tracking platforms.

• Preferred: experience assisting with operational transitions or onboarding processes.

• Preferred: ITIL, Scrum, Agile, Security+, or related certifications.

• Preferred: experience in supporting data-intensive or enterprise maintenance systems.
