This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in District of Columbia, +10 more states.
• You will primarily focus on designing and developing solutions for AI agents to implement.
• Assessing agent-generated configurations and code for quality, accuracy, and maintainability.
• Collaborating on tasks across systems to ensure AWeber's core operational platform remains reliable, secure, and efficient.
• Provisioning infrastructure resources.
• Fine-tuning monitoring and alerting systems.
• Engaging in our 24x7 on-call rotation, while cultivating the engineering judgment gained from hands-on experience with production systems.
• Defining infrastructure using code in Terraform.
• Reviewing proposed Kubernetes changes from agents before deployment.
• Setting up new alerts in Grafana to ensure quicker detection of incidents.
• Creating documentation that is accessible for both humans and AI agents.
• Managing release processes through GitHub and our deployment pipeline.
• A Bachelor's degree in a STEM-related discipline or equivalent professional experience, along with 2+ years in a platform engineering or systems/operations capacity.
• Proficient knowledge of AI development tools and coding assistants, with ease in utilizing them for daily implementation tasks.
• Excellent analytical and troubleshooting abilities — focusing on resolving root causes rather than just symptoms — combined with the communication skills necessary to explain technical issues to diverse audiences.
• Experience in a 24x7 on-call rotation (including incident response, mitigation, and root cause analysis), along with troubleshooting skills across Linux and Mac environments, and familiarity with Git or Mercurial for version control.
• Knowledge of containerized, cloud-based infrastructure including Kubernetes, Docker, and infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform or CloudFormation on AWS, GCP, or similar platforms.
• Proficiency in shell scripting and Python, with experience in configuring monitoring and alerting systems using tools such as Grafana, Prometheus, PagerDuty, or Sentry.
• A solid understanding of networking fundamentals (DNS, VPN, load balancing, subnetting) and security principles (firewalls, secrets management, IAM, PKI), along with hands-on experience applying these concepts.
