Operational Lab Manager – Oil, Gas & Chemicals

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Overall strategic and operational responsibility for the OGC laboratory sites located in Hamburg, Wilhelmshaven, and Speyer.

• Leadership, development, and management of the teams responsible for laboratory management and order processing.

• Disciplinary and functional oversight of 7 direct reports, with overall accountability for an organization comprising 47 FTEs.

• Ensuring a laboratory organization that is economically viable, efficient, and maintains high-quality standards.

• Management of resources, KPIs, and budgets, along with the ongoing optimization of laboratory processes.

• Overseeing external service providers to guarantee dependable order processing.

• Close collaboration with both internal and international stakeholders to execute the business strategy and advance the OGC business.

⛳️ Requirements

• A completed degree in chemistry or a related natural science discipline.

• Extensive leadership experience in an operational management position, preferably within a laboratory, chemical, or analytical setting.

• Demonstrated experience in leading large organizational units with multiple management levels and cross-site teams.

• Comprehensive industry knowledge of the Oil, Gas & Chemicals sector.

• Strong business acumen and experience in managing complex operational units.

• Proven success in leading, motivating, and developing both employees and managers.

• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities when engaging with internal and external stakeholders.

• Proficiency in both written and spoken German and English.

• A strong willingness to travel within Germany (approximately 25%).
