Online Visiting Professor – Outpatient Coding

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +2 more states.

📋 Description

• Instruct undergraduate and graduate students in courses focused on practical applications.

• Support student learning in alignment with DeVry University standards.

• Create course syllabi and lesson plans.

• Organize, prepare, revise, and update instructional materials.

• Utilize online technologies and course-related software, such as websites, email, and online discussions.

• Demonstrate effective oral and written communication skills.

• Communicate course objectives, assignment and exam schedules, and grading criteria.

• Ensure exam content is consistent with course objectives.

• Prepare and evaluate exams in a consistent and fair manner.

• Provide prompt feedback to students.

• Incorporate responsible AI technologies into teaching and learning practices.

• Identify, assess, and manage appropriate and inappropriate student use of AI tools.

• Fulfill other assigned responsibilities.

⛳️ Requirements

• Master’s degree in a healthcare-related discipline from a regionally accredited institution or its equivalent.

• Experience in outpatient coding is required.

• Current experience in a healthcare environment is necessary.

• Possession of an industry-related certification (CCS) is required.

• At least 5 years of practical knowledge in healthcare operations.

• Minimum of 5 years of recent experience in outpatient coding.

• Understanding of electronic health/medical records.

• Familiarity with IT systems and their functions in healthcare.

• Knowledge of health insurance and reimbursement processes.

• Awareness of health privacy and ethical considerations.

• Understanding of reimbursement methodologies and billing procedures.

• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings.
