Elementary School Special Education Teacher

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Kentucky, +5 more states.

📋 Description

• Engage with students in Grades 3-5 who face learning, mental, emotional, and physical challenges.

• Ensure that lessons and teaching methodologies are tailored to meet the diverse needs of students.

• Instruct on independent living, literacy, communication, and mathematical skills.

• Adapt and modify the K12 curriculum to ensure compliance with state content standards.

• Draft and uphold compliant Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).

• Collaborate effectively with general education instructors and related services teams.

• Provide guidance to parents regarding instructional techniques.

• Prepare necessary documentation accurately.

• Organize and lead IEP meetings.

• Supervise achievement and mandated testing, including alternative assessments.

• Develop and track IEP objectives.

• Travel to various meeting locations across the state as required.

⛳️ Requirements

• Hold a State of Ohio Intervention Specialist License.

• Possess a Bachelor's degree.

• Have an equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Visio, etc.).

• Demonstrate web proficiency.

• Capable of working independently without direct oversight.

• Willingness to travel as necessary, up to 20% of the time.

• Must pass the required background check.

• Ability to maintain a distraction-free professional home office during work hours.

• Minimum of 1 year of classroom experience is preferred.

• A Master’s Degree with a focus on Special Education is preferred.

• 3 or more years of experience in a Special Education classroom is preferred.
