Online Visiting Professor – Outpatient Coding

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +2 more states.

📋 Description

• Instruct courses and programs in alignment with DeVry University standards.

• Facilitate learning experiences for both undergraduate and graduate students.

• Create course syllabi and lesson plans that meet course and program objectives.

• Organize, prepare, revise, and update instructional materials.

• Utilize online technologies and course-related software, such as websites, email, and online discussions.

• Exemplify effective oral and written communication skills.

• Publish course objectives, assignment due dates, examination dates, and evaluation criteria.

• Ensure that examinations align with course objectives.

• Prepare and assess examinations consistently and fairly.

• Provide prompt feedback to students.

• Integrate responsible AI technologies into the teaching and learning process.

• Identify, evaluate, and address appropriate and inappropriate use of AI tools by students.

• Perform additional duties as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• Master’s degree in a healthcare-related field from a regionally accredited institution or equivalent.

• Experience in outpatient coding and current industry experience within a healthcare environment.

• Valid industry-related certification (CCS).

• A minimum of 5 years of knowledge in healthcare operations.

• At least 5 years of recent outpatient coding experience in the field.

• Familiarity with electronic health/medical records.

• Understanding of IT systems and their functions within healthcare.

• Knowledge of health insurance and reimbursement processes.

• Awareness of health privacy and ethics.

• Understanding of reimbursement methodologies and billing practices.

• Capability to work flexible hours, including evenings.

• Dedication to ongoing professional development in instructional technology, digital literacy, and responsible AI practices.
