Online Visiting Professor – Manufacturing and Automation

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +2 more states.

📋 Description

• Instruct undergraduate and graduate courses as a visiting professor specializing in manufacturing and automation.

• Support student learning in alignment with DeVry University standards.

• Create course syllabi and lesson plans that meet course and program objectives.

• Prepare, revise, and update course materials as needed.

• Utilize online technologies and course-related software, such as websites, email, and online discussions.

• Demonstrate effective oral and written communication to engage students and enhance learning.

• Publish course objectives, assignment deadlines, examination dates, and evaluation weight distributions.

• Ensure exams are aligned with terminal course objectives.

• Prepare and grade exams in a consistent and fair manner.

• Provide prompt feedback to students.

• Incorporate responsible use of AI technologies into the educational process.

• Identify, assess, and address appropriate and inappropriate student usage of AI tools.

• Engage in comprehensive faculty training and continuous faculty development activities.

• Perform additional duties as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• Doctorate in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Engineering Technology, Automation Engineering, or a closely related field.

• Minimum of 18 graduate credit hours in manufacturing systems, industrial automation, robotics, production engineering, or related technical areas.

• Unofficial graduate-level transcripts must be submitted with the application.

• Degree must be obtained from an institution accredited by an agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education or the Council for Higher Education Accreditation, or from an internationally equivalent accredited institution.

• Three to five years of practical professional experience in manufacturing environments, industrial automation, production engineering, robotics, or advanced manufacturing systems.

• Familiarity with manufacturing processes and automation technologies, including production systems, programmable logic controllers, robotics, industrial control systems, or smart manufacturing settings.

• Two to five years of post-secondary teaching experience, preferably in manufacturing technology, industrial automation, robotics, or applied engineering fields.

• Industry-recognized certifications or professional credentials relevant to manufacturing, industrial automation, robotics, or production systems.

• Strong subject matter expertise in manufacturing systems and automated technologies.

• Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey technical concepts to a diverse range of learners.

• Understanding of industrial safety standards, quality management practices, and operational efficiency principles in manufacturing contexts.

• Additional requirements may be necessary based on state licensing, institutional regulations, or accreditation standards.

• Preferred: experience with robotics integration, industrial automation systems, CNC, additive manufacturing, smart factory systems, lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, production optimization, industrial systems integration, IIoT, automated production monitoring, accreditation processes, professional organizations, laboratory instruction, industrial simulations, automation platforms, and applied production system projects.
