Online Part Time Faculty – Emergency & Disaster Management, Bilingual Spanish/English

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Courses will be delivered in Spanish.

• Applicants must possess fluency in both English and Spanish and successfully complete a fluency assessment.

• APUS faculty exhibit a strong dedication to learning, teaching, student engagement, community service, and scholarly activities.

• Bilingual faculty (English/Spanish) are expected to communicate proficiently in both languages, orally and in writing, to assist our diverse student body.

• Faculty are essential in fostering a fulfilling online learning environment by engaging, challenging, and supporting students.

• They actively participate in a variety of initiatives aimed at enhancing teaching effectiveness and improving student retention.

• Faculty members are required to maintain expertise in their field, comply with APUS guidelines, processes, and methods, and remain open to mentoring and coaching to promote continuous professional development.

⛳️ Requirements

• A doctoral degree in Emergency and Disaster Management or a closely related discipline from a regionally accredited institution is mandatory.

• A minimum of five years of experience in the Emergency and Disaster Management field is essential.

• Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish is required.

• Candidates must be capable of effective communication in both languages, both verbally and in writing.

• Proven proficiency in English and Spanish with the ability to clearly and accurately convey complex information to diverse audiences.

• Proficiency evaluations in both English and Spanish will be included in the application process to verify the required language fluency levels for the role.

• Ability to translate and interpret information while ensuring accuracy and cultural sensitivity in communication is essential.

• Experience in supporting or engaging with Spanish-speaking students is preferred.

• College-level teaching experience is advantageous.

• Experience with online teaching is preferred.

• A track record of excellence in teaching is required.
