Online Algebra Tutor

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +5 more states.

📋 Description

• Assist students in Algebra 1 and Algebra 2 through tailored one-on-one online tutoring.

• Teach additional math subjects ranging from 6th grade to college level as necessary.

• Conduct flexible remote tutoring sessions that cater to students' individual needs.

• Provide support to students across the United States.

• Utilize online tutoring tools to provide clear annotations when appropriate.

• Ensure continuous communication throughout the onboarding and activation waiting period.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree required.

• A minimum of 3 years of professional teaching or tutoring experience.

• At least 1 year of relevant teaching or tutoring experience within the U.S.

• Must have engaged in teaching or tutoring within the last 2 years.

• A minimum of 1 year of online tutoring experience is needed.

• Strong grasp of the U.S. curriculum and grading standards.

• Capability to tutor Algebra 1 and Algebra 2, with additional support for broader math subjects from 6th grade to college level.

• Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.

• Availability during peak hours from Monday to Thursday, 3 to 10 PM ET is essential for connecting with more students.

• Broader availability on weekdays and weekends is considered a plus.

• Must have a fast and reliable internet connection.

• A computer or laptop equipped with a microphone and camera is required.

• A stylus pen is highly recommended for effective annotations.

• A quiet and professional workspace is necessary.

• Direct, professional teaching or tutoring experience with students is required; experience as a TA, peer tutor, grader, SI position, or lab assistant alone does not fulfill this requirement.

• Contracts signed between August 1 and August 15 will have an estimated onboarding starting September 1.

• Contracts signed between August 15 and September 15 will have an estimated onboarding starting September 15.
