This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Develop and implement the Medical strategy and engagement for designated customers within a specific territory.

• Stay informed about relevant therapeutic areas, disease conditions, and Pfizer products.

• Provide information on therapeutic areas and products to both internal and external stakeholders.

• Act as a resource for Medical Information and gather customer insights.

• Contribute to the Medical content strategy and execute related Field Medical tactics.

• Collaborate with Medical colleagues at headquarters, Medical Information, and Field Medical teams.

• Deliver approved medical and scientific education through various channels, including live, virtual, written, and telephone communications.

• Present approved medical content regarding Pfizer medicines and pertinent therapeutic-area topics.

• Identify and engage key customer segments.

• Address unsolicited medical inquiries from healthcare professionals with truthful, accurate, and scientifically supported information.

• Lead advisory boards with oversight from management.

• Manage inbound queries from healthcare professionals via the established triage process.

• Identify potential sites for Pfizer-sponsored clinical trials, particularly those serving under-represented patient populations.

• Provide Medical support throughout the Investigator Sponsored Research process.

• Enhance research and therapeutic-area expertise through data from conferences and disease-state literature.

• Offer leadership on assets and communicate concepts related to study design, methodology, data analysis, and interpretation.

• Exhibit strong leadership within the territory.

• Engage with local Patient Advocacy Groups in collaboration with Corporate Affairs and HQ Medical Affairs.

• Share insights about local patient organization structures, capabilities, and needs of patient populations.

• Participate in Medical, therapeutic-area, and asset cross-functional committees.

• Represent Pfizer Medical Affairs with clinical/professional associations and societies.

• Mentor colleagues as an onboarding partner, advisory-board mentor, and study-lead mentor.

• Engage in special projects as necessary.

• Record medical interactions and utilize new digital technologies and resources with medical customers.

• Travel regularly for customer meetings, headquarters meetings, regional and national scientific meetings, and advisory boards/congresses.


⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree in a health science is required.

• Relevant experience is necessary: PharmD/PhD with 6 years of experience, MBA/MSc with 8 years of experience, or BA/BSc with 10 years of experience.

• Must currently reside in the territory of Southern California.

• Recognized subject matter expert among internal and external stakeholders.

• Ability to manage a substantial number of projects developed in a remote setting, prioritize effectively, implement successfully, and exercise sound judgment.

• Capability to work within a matrixed, multi-disciplinary team.

• Proven ability to lead and adapt to organizational changes.

• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to network across the enterprise.

• Quick to adopt and use new digital technology and record medical interactions.

• Must be able to operate a Pfizer company car.

• Ability to regularly fly on airplanes.

• Flexibility to travel 60-80% of the time.

• Reasonable proximity to an airline hub city is required.

• Willingness to work occasional weekends.

• Candidates must be authorized to work in the U.S. for any employer.

• Permanent work authorization in the United States is essential; U.S. work visa sponsorship is not available now or in the future.

• PharmD, PhD, or an equivalent terminal doctoral degree is highly preferred.

• Familiarity with internal/external SOPs, rules, and regulations concerning Pfizer/customer interactions is required.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills are necessary.

• Previous Field Medical experience is preferred.

• Strong clinical and technical skills are required.

• Leadership, influencing, collaboration, coaching, and conflict-management skills are essential.

• Excellent interpersonal skills are a must.
