Director, Clinical Supply Chain – Planning

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee the fulfillment of domestic and international orders for clinical trial products, including Standard of Care items, within RayzeBio's clinical programs.

• Manage the labeling, packaging, and distribution processes for products manufactured externally for clinical trials.

• Create and lead departments and teams focused on Clinical Supply Chain, Planning, and Warehousing/Depot operations.

• Formulate cost-effective purchasing strategies for materials that align with the organization's objectives.

• Maintain relationships with suppliers and seek additional vendor options.

• Supervise the identification and evaluation of suppliers, co-negotiation of contracts, and management of agreements.

• Act as the primary liaison for corporate leadership and clinical stakeholders concerning clinical supply chain operations.

• Manage relationships with external vendors, logistics companies, and third-party depots.

• Develop processes to monitor and control inventory levels to avoid shortages or excess stock.

• Conduct cost analyses, set benchmarks, identify opportunities for cost savings, and enhance procurement strategies.

• Ensure adherence to cGMP, GDP, FDA, and other applicable regulatory standards.

• Direct the documentation, policies, and procedures related to clinical supply chain functions.

• Oversee the training, onboarding, and skill development of teams within the clinical supply chain.

• Cultivate relationships with manufacturing, quality control, regulatory, finance, and commercial departments.

• Assess spending operations and enhance product quality and delivery efficiency.

• Create and execute risk management plans for potential shortages and disruptions in the supply chain.

• Attract, mentor, oversee, and retain a high-performing procurement team.

• Promote empowerment, collaboration, innovation, and accountability within the team.

• Ensure succession planning and professional growth for critical roles.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business, or a related field.

• Over 10 years of progressively responsible experience in supply chain or procurement management in biotech, pharmaceutical, or similar sectors.

• Proven experience in site operations, procurement, material management, and leading teams.

• Strong analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving capabilities.

• Exceptional communication skills and stakeholder management proficiency.

• In-depth knowledge of cGMP, GDP, and FDA regulatory requirements.

• Experience with S&OP, demand planning, and optimizing supply chains.

• Ability to function effectively in a matrix organization and influence senior leadership.

• Demonstrated experience in developing and leading supply chain teams.

• Advanced skills in supply chain management methodologies and tools.

• Knowledge of vendor management, contract negotiation, and cost control practices.

• Willingness to travel up to 20% to locations including Indianapolis and San Diego.

• Regularly engage in office, warehouse, and manufacturing environments, with PPE required in specific areas.
