This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Strategize and implement medical engagement initiatives for designated customers within the region.

• Keep updated on relevant therapeutic areas, disease conditions, and Pfizer products.

• Supply therapeutic area and product knowledge to both internal and external stakeholders.

• Act as a liaison for medical information and insights from customers.

• Contribute to the medical content strategy and execute aligned field medical tactics.

• Collaborate with medical colleagues at headquarters, medical information teams, and other field medical personnel.

• Present live and virtual talks, written communications, and conduct telephone or virtual discussions.

• Share approved medical information regarding Pfizer products and related subjects.

• Identify and engage key customer segments within the assigned therapeutic area.

• Address unsolicited medical inquiries from healthcare professionals following Pfizer guidelines.

• Lead advisory boards under managerial supervision.

• Manage inbound inquiries from healthcare professionals via the established triage process.

• Identify potential sites for Pfizer-sponsored clinical research, including those serving underrepresented patient groups.

• Provide medical support throughout the Investigator Sponsored Research process.

• Develop expertise in research and therapeutic areas, including current congress data and literature on disease states.

• Offer leadership in asset management and communicate concepts of study design, methodology, data analysis, and interpretation.

• Demonstrate strong territorial leadership.

• Engage with local patient advocacy groups in conjunction with Corporate Affairs and HQ Medical Affairs.

• Share insights regarding local patient organization structures, capabilities, and the needs of patient populations.

• Participate on medical, therapeutic area, and asset cross-functional committees.

• Represent Pfizer Medical Affairs at clinical and professional associations and societies.

• Mentor new onboarding partners, advisory board leads, and study directors.

• Take part in special projects.

• Operate a Pfizer company vehicle and frequently travel to customers, headquarters, regional, and national scientific events.

• Travel 60-80% of the time and occasionally work weekends.


⛳️ Requirements

• A bachelor’s degree in a health science is mandatory.

• PharmD/PhD with 6 years of experience, MBA/MSc with 8 years of experience, or BA/BSc with 10 years of experience is required.

• Must currently reside in the Southern California territory.

• Recognized subject matter expert among internal and external stakeholders.

• Ability to manage a substantial volume of projects developed in a remote setting, prioritize effectively, implement successfully, and demonstrate sound judgment.

• Capability to work within a matrixed, multi-disciplinary team.

• Proven ability to manage and lead change in a dynamic external healthcare environment.

• Change agility and adaptability to organizational transformations.

• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to network across the enterprise.

• Quick to adopt and utilize new digital technologies and record medical interactions.

• Ability to operate a Pfizer company vehicle.

• Must be able to travel by airplane regularly.

• Flexibility to travel 60-80% of the time.

• PharmD, PhD, or an equivalent terminal doctoral degree is highly preferred.

• Familiarity with internal and external SOPs, rules, and regulations regarding Pfizer and customer interactions.

• Excellent oral and written communication abilities.

• Prior Field Medical experience is essential.

• Clinical and technical proficiency.

• Strong leadership, collaboration, interpersonal, conflict management, coaching, and influencing skills.

• Reasonable proximity to an airline hub city is preferred.

• Must be willing to work occasional weekends.

• Candidates must have authorization to be employed in the U.S. by any employer.

• Permanent work authorization in the United States is required.

• U.S. work visa sponsorship is not available now or in the future.
