This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Connecticut, +7 more states.
• Deliver clinical education for J&J Innovative Medicine Oncology brands, primarily concentrating on PI-based and disease-state education.
• Instruct non-physician patient care teams, which include nurses, nurse navigators, pharmacists, Nurse Practitioners, and Physician Assistants.
• Assist in enhancing patient experiences by addressing clinical and behavioral treatment and disease-management education needs.
• Act as a reliable educational resource for patient care teams and patients.
• Provide support to patient care teams with education and approved resources within a specified geographic territory.
• Function as a strategic educational leader across both academic and community oncology accounts.
• Evaluate account dynamics and customer clinical issues to formulate strategic educational plans.
• Identify engagement strategies, keep track of market educational needs and clinical trends, and collaborate compliantly with internal and external partners.
• Educate patients through requests from advocacy groups.
• Cultivate external relationships with patient care teams and oversee a geographical territory.
• Create and sustain strategic territory plans.
• Train patient care teams on disease-state awareness, patient identification, product clinical profiles, clinical benefits, and administration requirements.
• Provide education through one-on-one presentations, roundtable discussions, and formal presentations.
• Instruct infusion nurses and medical staff on the infusion processes for new cancer medications.
• Effectively translate and communicate clinical education topics to varied audiences.
• Record and share clinical insights from customer engagements and meetings.
• Utilize clinical insights to inform local education strategy and strategic account educational plans.
• Attend and present clinical information at national, regional, and local meetings as necessary.
• Support exhibit booths and displays as needed.
• Participate in journal clubs, book clubs, and team clinical discussions.
• Develop, implement, and document performance and development plans in collaboration with the supervisor.
• Engage in management-assigned projects.
• Complete administrative tasks, including expense reports and activity documentation.
• Contribute to sales training initiatives and enhance field personnel clinical competencies in partnership with Sales Learning and Development.
• Collaborate with sales, marketing, Health Policy & Advocacy, Medical Science Liaisons, Janssen Care Path, and other departments.
• Keep updated on the OCE mission, rules of engagement, scientific data, market dynamics, competitive landscape, compliance guidelines, corporate policies, SOPs, and relevant directives.
• Remain informed about clinical developments related to assigned disease states.
• Maintain advanced presentation skills and document interactions, clinical insights, and customer profile information on a daily basis.
• Attend clinically relevant meetings for professional development.
• Conduct all activities in compliance with OCE Rules of Engagement and healthcare compliance guidelines.
• Bachelor’s degree is required.
• An active RN license or Advanced Practice degree (Nurse Practitioner/MSN) is required.
• OCN/AOCN/AOCNS or AOCNP certification is mandatory.
• A minimum of 8 years of work experience is required.
• At least 2 years of postgraduate oncology clinical and/or educational experience is required.
• Experience with Oncology and/or Hematology products is essential.
• Exceptional presentation skills are a must.
• Ability to navigate and discuss complex clinical data is required.
• Strong collaboration and time management skills are necessary.
• Excellent communication skills are essential.
• Critical thinking ability is required.
• Capability to develop comprehensive account educational plans is necessary.
• Ability to analyze clinical insights to shape local education strategy is essential.
• Strong teamwork focus and ability to compliantly navigate field partner complexities are required.
• Above-average computer skills: PowerPoint, Excel, Word are needed.
• Expected to work a 40-hour work week, with occasional flexibility for additional hours.
• Approximately 70% travel is required, including overnight travel and additional business travel as needed.
• Must be prepared for air travel, including overnight and weekends as necessary.
• Ability to lift and transport work materials is required.
• A valid driver’s license is necessary.
• Fluency in English with excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills is required.
• Must reside in the territory or be willing to relocate to the territory; proximity to a major airport is preferred.
• Knowledge and/or experience with direct-to-patient education initiatives is preferred.
• Previous industry experience is desirable.
• Experience in introducing new specialty pharmaceutical/biologics products or indications is a plus.
