This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.

📋 Description

• Request, follow up, acquire, and confirm authorizations, referrals, and notifications using the appropriate CPT and ICD-10 codes within specified timelines.

• Provide support for Radiation Oncology and/or Oncology Infusion.

• Operate in a call center-like environment while achieving individual quality metrics.

• Coordinate patient flow and ensure timely processing of requests.

• Maintain up-to-date knowledge and implement practices utilized within the department, physician practice, and hospital to effectively address patient inquiries or concerns.

• Stay informed about insurance requirements, BHSF pricing, financial assistance options, and BHSF Revenue Cycle operations.

• Deliver professional, compassionate, and friendly service to patients of all ages, their families, employees, physicians, and community members.


⛳️ Requirements

• High School diploma, Certificate, GED, Training, or Experience.

• For external candidates: An Associate's Degree is preferred, along with 3 years of experience in validating/obtaining authorizations with insurance payers, or 4 years of experience in place of a degree.

• Completion of Association of Community Cancer Center, Prior Authorization On-Demand Webinars within 3 months of hire, with annual updates required.

• Successful completion of the Patient Access training course.

• Capability to thrive in a fast-paced work setting.

• Proficient in performing basic mathematical calculations.

• Preferred: Familiarity with healthcare regulatory guidelines such as HIPAA, AHCA, and EMTALA.

• Knowledge of authorization guidelines specific to Radiation Oncology/Oncology Infusion.

• Understanding of insurance contracts, medical terminology, authorizations, and pre-certifications.

• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products and EMR applications.

• Bilingual in English and Spanish/Creole.

• For internal candidates: A minimum of 3 years of experience in validating/obtaining authorizations and a proven ability to independently perform all Level 1 functions.

• For internal candidates: Must meet or exceed all Individual Performance Standards for at least the last 6 months.

• For internal candidates: Must exceed departmental KPIs and be cross-trained in multiple areas/product lines to fill in for all staff positions as needed.
