Offshore Basic Traveling Service Technician

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colorado, +23 more states.

📋 Description

• Execute scheduled and preventative maintenance tasks on offshore wind turbines.

• Support seasoned technicians with designated maintenance duties.

• Carry out basic mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic operations in accordance with approved procedures and work guidelines.

• Assist in replacing components, adjusting settings, and conducting general turbine upkeep.

• Utilize hand tools, power tools, torque equipment, and various service tools safely.

• Adhere to lockout/tagout, energy isolation, and established safety protocols.

• Work safely at heights and within confined spaces of wind turbine structures.

• Engage in offshore transfers between vessels and turbine structures.

• Maintain tools, equipment, personal protective equipment (PPE), and workspaces.

• Complete maintenance documentation, checklists, timesheets, and necessary records.

• Participate in daily safety meetings, toolbox discussions, job hazard assessments, and pre-task planning.

• Comply with customer, site, vessel, and GEV Wind Power policies and procedures.

• Report safety issues, hazards, incidents, equipment damages, and quality concerns.

• Collaborate with technicians, supervisors, vessel crews, customers, and project teams.

• Undertake additional responsibilities that support offshore service operations.

⛳️ Requirements

• At least 6+ months of experience in wind turbine servicing and maintenance.

• Fundamental mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic knowledge.

• Proficient in using hand tools, power tools, and torque/tensioning equipment.

• Knowledge of Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures.

• Ability to interpret and adhere to work instructions, technical procedures, and safety documentation.

• Comfortable working at heights and within confined spaces.

• Willingness to work in an offshore setting and travel 100% of the time.

• Comfortable aboard vessels and in offshore conditions.

• Capable of safely transferring between vessels and offshore wind turbine structures.

• Physically fit to ascend wind turbine towers and ladders while wearing PPE and carrying required equipment.

• Possess a valid and current driving license with a satisfactory driving history.

• Must be at least 21 years old to operate a company vehicle.

• Proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English.

• Successful completion of a criminal background check.

• Candidates should be available to commence as early as August 24, 2026, for mandatory New Hire Orientation.

• Ability to travel via commercial airline to project sites across North America.

• Willing to work offshore for extended durations based on project-specific rotations.

• Able to travel 100% on an 8/1 rotation throughout the year.

• Capable of meeting physical demands, including climbing turbines up to 125m+ (400+ feet), lifting/carrying/pushing/pulling up to 50 lbs, and repetitive tool usage.

• Comfortable working at heights up to 400 feet.

• Commitment to the safety, quality, and performance policies and procedures of the company and clients.

• Additional/optional certifications that are advantageous include GWO BST Offshore, GWO BTT, GWO ART Hub & Nacelle, Crane/Chain Hoist/Rigging Safety Training, Offshore Step Medical, XBR Shoulder Width Measurements, Chester Step, OSHA 10 General Industry, and NFPA 70E Arc-Flash Awareness.
