Offensive Security Training Content Developer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +6 more states.

📋 Description

• Oversee and continually enhance Red Team Operations, Cobalt Strike, and associated offensive security training materials.

• Create and develop courses, modules, hands-on activities, evaluations, certifications, and learning pathways.

• Investigate contemporary adversary tactics, techniques, and procedures, and adapt them into safe, realistic, authorized training scenarios.

• Develop, document, test, and sustain practical lab environments, including infrastructure, scripts, configurations, and resources.

• Compose technical educational materials such as lessons, walkthroughs, lab guides, reference documentation, quizzes, and exercises.

• Collaborate with Zero-Point Security specialists, Cobalt Strike engineers and researchers, product teams, and stakeholders.

• Collect and integrate feedback from students, instructors, customers, support teams, and internal stakeholders.

• Influence the training roadmap by identifying skill gaps, emerging techniques, technologies, and course opportunities.

• Set standards for technical accuracy, instructional quality, lab design, terminology, and course structure.

• Create demonstrations, videos, webinars, workshops, blog posts, and presentations as appropriate.

• Ensure that offensive security training is designed and delivered responsibly for legitimate, authorized security testing and education.

⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive hands-on experience in offensive security, including red teaming, penetration testing, adversary simulation, security research, or a related field.

• Profound understanding of modern red-team operations and the adversary-simulation lifecycle, encompassing initial access, command and control, privilege escalation, credential access, lateral movement, persistence, and post-exploitation.

• Practical knowledge of Cobalt Strike or similar command-and-control and adversary simulation platforms.

• Strong familiarity with Windows environments and Active Directory.

• Capability to build, troubleshoot, automate, and maintain realistic cybersecurity lab environments, including multi-host Active Directory setups.

• Knowledge of virtualization, cloud infrastructure, containers, infrastructure-as-code, or automated provisioning is advantageous.

• Proficiency in PowerShell, Python, C#, or C.

• Ability to independently research a topic, validate it in a lab, and transform findings into repeatable, high-quality training content.

• Excellent skills in technical writing, verbal communication, and instructional design.

• Strong attention to detail when verifying exercises, commands, code samples, instructions, and lab environments.

• Experience managing technical content through structured documentation and version-control workflows.

• Experience in developing or delivering cybersecurity education.

• Familiarity with learning management systems, assessment design, technical video production, or public-facing technical content is a plus.

• Experience with other Fortra Offensive Security technologies, such as Outflank Security Tooling or Core Impact, is beneficial.

• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with researchers, engineers, product teams, and subject matter experts.

• High ethical standards, sound judgment, and a commitment to the responsible use of offensive security techniques.

• Active interest in offensive security research and ongoing learning.

• Completion of Red Team Operations I / CRTO, Red Team Operations II / Red Team Lead, Cobalt Strike training, or comparable advanced offensive security training is preferred.
