Odoo Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ukraine.

📋 Description

• Design and manage customizations within Odoo for finance and project management systems, including a tailored expense application.

• Develop and sustain integrations with Microsoft Dynamics, Zoho, and various banking systems.

• Execute the migration of historical data through scripted, repeatable loads that are validated against the source via dry runs and cutover processes.

• Create and uphold testing pipelines, encompassing test and mock data.

• Work closely on a daily basis with the Odoo Functional Consultant to clarify requirements and explore solution options.

• Partner with the Project Manager to discuss estimates, progress updates, and identify potential risks.

• Ensure that technical documentation remains up-to-date.

• Provide support for the system following its go-live phase.

• Utilize AI coding tools in everyday development and assist with the finance automation initiative.

• Undertake additional responsibilities that align with the role's objectives.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of commercial experience in Python development.

• At least 2 years of experience creating custom Odoo modules on recent versions of Odoo.

• In-depth knowledge of Odoo back-end development, including ORM, inheritance, security, reporting, and scheduled actions.

• Strong proficiency in Odoo front-end development, particularly with OWL and JavaScript.

• Experience in developing custom user-facing applications within Odoo.

• Familiarity with integrating Odoo with external systems using REST APIs and Odoo's external APIs.

• Proven experience in implementing robust error-handling methods.

• Practical experience with data migration initiatives, covering scripted and repeatable data loads, validation, and ensuring data quality.

• Proficient in PostgreSQL, Git, Linux, Docker, and practices related to Odoo deployment and maintenance.

• Strong discipline in testing, including automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, and management of test data.

• Demonstrated ability to take initiative and deliver outcomes independently.

• Professional command of both English and Ukrainian.
