This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Mexico.

📋 Description

• Become a part of AECOM's Overhead Catenary Systems Engineering team located in Philadelphia.

• Engage in planning, conceptual engineering, design, final engineering, constructability assessments, and cost estimation.

• Supervise junior engineers on projects that range from mid- to large-scale.

• Utilize your expertise in rail design, rail operations, railroad construction, OCS, traction power substations, signals and communications systems, and track layouts.

• Create OCS layout drawings, profiles, hanger tabulations, erection diagrams, and technical specifications.

• Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local OCS regulations.

• Contribute to projects for significant transit agencies.


⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field, combined with 4 years of relevant experience, or a demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.

• Proficient in the design and analysis of overhead electrification systems.

• Familiarity with project scopes and design phases from preliminary design to construction.

• Preferred: Experience in designing auto-tensioned and fixed termination systems.

• Preferred: Experience with simple catenary and single contact wire/trolley wire systems.

• Preferred: Knowledge of both AC and DC systems.

• Preferred: Proficiency in AutoCAD and MicroStation.

• Knowledgeable in STAAD, LPile, and MathCAD.

• Experience in developing specifications and cost estimates.

• Familiarity with construction staging and design around active railroads.

• Understanding of construction and installation practices.

• Ability to instruct, manage, and oversee junior engineers.

• Must be eligible to work in the United States; sponsorship may be available for current U.S. visa holders.
