Occupational Therapist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Assess patients' functional capabilities and home settings to determine needs and safety issues.

• Create individualized treatment plans and convey them to physicians and the care team.

• Instruct and retrain patients in daily living activities impacted by illness or injury.

• Suggest and guide patients on the use of adaptive equipment, splints, and prosthetic/orthotic devices.

• Keep precise clinical records and swiftly communicate any changes in patient status.

• Collaborate with the wider care team to ensure cohesive, patient-focused care.

• Provide education to family members and caregivers regarding the patient’s treatment plan.

• Supervise Occupational Therapy Assistants and manage home health aide services when OT is the sole skilled service.

• Assist in discharge planning as patients move out of home health care.

• Carry out other tasks necessary for patient services.

⛳️ Requirements

• Graduate from an occupational therapy program accredited by both the Committee on Allied Health Education and Accreditation of the American Medical Association and the American Occupational Therapy Association.

• Registered with the National Registration Examination of the American Occupational Therapy Association.

• Valid California Occupational Therapy license.

• At least 2 years of clinical occupational therapy experience.

• Current CPR certification from the American Heart Association.

• Possess a valid driver’s license, a reliable insured vehicle, and the ability to travel to patient residences.
