Occupational Therapist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Assess patients’ functional abilities and evaluate their home environments to determine needs and safety issues

• Create individualized treatment plans and convey them to physicians and the care team

• Instruct and retrain patients in daily living activities impacted by illness or injury

• Recommend and guide patients on the use of adaptive equipment, splints, and prosthetic/orthotic devices

• Keep precise clinical records and quickly notify changes in patient conditions

• Collaborate with the broader care team to ensure comprehensive, patient-focused care

• Educate family members and caregivers regarding the patient's treatment plan

• Supervise Occupational Therapy Assistants and manage home health aide care when OT is the sole skilled service

• Assist in discharge planning as patients transition from home health care

• Carry out additional duties as necessary for patient services

⛳️ Requirements

• Graduate from an occupational therapy program accredited jointly by the Committee on Allied Health Education and Accreditation of the American Medical Association and the American Occupational Therapy Association

• Registered with the National Registration Examination of the American Occupational Therapy Association

• Active California Occupational Therapy license

• At least 2 years of clinical occupational therapy experience

• Current CPR certification from the American Heart Association

• Valid driver’s license, reliable insured vehicle, and capability to travel to patient residences

• Excellent communication and organizational skills
