Occupational Therapist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Assess patients' functional capabilities and their home settings to determine needs and safety issues.

• Create individualized treatment strategies and communicate them effectively with physicians and the care team.

• Instruct and retrain patients in daily living activities impacted by injury or illness.

• Advise and train patients on the use of adaptive devices, splints, and prosthetic/orthotic solutions.

• Keep precise clinical records and promptly inform relevant parties of any changes in the patient's condition.

• Collaborate with the wider care team to provide seamless, patient-focused care.

• Educate family members and caregivers about the patient's treatment plan.

• Oversee Occupational Therapy Assistants and manage home health aide services when OT is the only skilled service provided.

• Assist with discharge planning as patients move out of home health care.

• Carry out other responsibilities as needed for patient services.

⛳️ Requirements

• Graduate from an accredited occupational therapy program recognized by the Committee on Allied Health Education and Accreditation of the American Medical Association and the American Occupational Therapy Association.

• Registered with the National Registration Examination of the American Occupational Therapy Association.

• Possess an active California Occupational Therapy license.

• Have a minimum of 2 years of practical OT experience.

• Hold a current CPR certification from AHA.

• Valid driver's license, a reliable insured vehicle, and the capability to travel to patient residences.

• Excellent communication and organizational abilities.
