Occupational Therapist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Assess patients' functional capabilities and home settings to determine needs and safety issues.

• Create individualized treatment plans and relay them to physicians and the care team.

• Educate and retrain patients in daily living activities impacted by illness or injury.

• Recommend and guide patients on the use of adaptive equipment, splints, and prosthetic/orthotic devices.

• Maintain precise clinical documentation and promptly inform about any changes in patient conditions.

• Collaborate with the wider care team to provide seamless, patient-focused care.

• Instruct family members and caregivers on the patient's treatment strategy.

• Supervise Occupational Therapy Assistants and manage home health aide services when OT is the only skilled service.

• Assist in discharge planning as patients transition from home health care.

• Carry out additional responsibilities as necessary for patient services.

⛳️ Requirements

• Graduate from an occupational therapy program accredited by the Committee on Allied Health Education and Accreditation of the American Medical Association and the American Occupational Therapy Association.

• Registered with the National Registration Examination of the American Occupational Therapy Association.

• Valid California Occupational Therapy license.

• A minimum of 2 years of clinical OT experience.

• Current CPR certification from the AHA.

• Possession of a valid driver's license, reliable insured vehicle, and capability to travel to patient residences.

• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
