This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Assess patients' functional capabilities and home settings to pinpoint needs and safety issues.
• Create tailored treatment plans and convey them to physicians and the healthcare team.
• Instruct and retrain patients in daily living activities impacted by illness or injury.
• Suggest and guide patients on the use of adaptive equipment, splints, and prosthetic/orthotic devices.
• Keep precise clinical records and quickly report any changes in patient status.
• Collaborate with the wider care team to ensure fluid, patient-focused care.
• Educate family members and caregivers regarding the patient's treatment plan.
• Supervise Occupational Therapy Assistants and manage home health aide care when OT is the only skilled service provided.
• Assist with discharge planning as patients move out of home health care.
• Carry out additional duties as needed for patient services.
• Graduate from an occupational therapy program accredited by both the Committee on Allied Health Education and Accreditation of the American Medical Association and the American Occupational Therapy Association.
• Registered with the National Registration Examination of the American Occupational Therapy Association.
• Active California Occupational Therapy license.
• At least 2 years of clinical OT experience.
• Current CPR certification from AHA.
• Valid driver’s license, dependable insured vehicle, and the capability to travel to patient residences.
• Excellent communication and organizational abilities.
