OA Assistant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ohio.

📋 Description

• Recruit qualified youth for the Job Corps Program

• Carry out outreach initiatives within communities, agencies, American Job Centers, and at public events

• Achieve departmental and center-specific goals and objectives

• Conduct orientations and interviews with applicants, including the parents of minors

• Manage applicant file procedures, which includes data entry and digitizing documents into e-files

• Engage in departmental meetings

• Collaborate with centers to assist applicants with travel arrangements

• Execute quality assurance checks on applicant files

• Evaluate the placement readiness of graduates and former trainees, providing referrals and support services

• Ensure prompt placement and retention of graduates and former participants in quality employment, military service, or further education and training

• Foster job development through direct engagement with employers, One-Stops, JTPA, and State Employment Agencies

• Communicate and exemplify appropriate CSS and employability skills

• Maintain accountability for staff, students, and property

• Comply with safety protocols

• Promote a safe, respectful, and harassment-free environment

• Attend mandatory staff training sessions

• Carry out additional duties as assigned

⛳️ Requirements

• Strong public speaking abilities and relevant experience

• Proficient verbal and written communication skills

• Excellent problem-solving and conflict resolution capabilities

• Proficiency in computer applications, particularly the Internet, email, and Word Perfect/MS WORD

• Willingness to work some evenings and occasional weekends

• Ability to travel as needed

• Four years of experience working with youth aged 16-24

• Bachelor’s Degree

• Preferred: 15 semester hours in psychology

• Valid State Driver’s License
