Nurse Practitioner – Psychiatric Mental Health

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ohio.

📋 Description

• Deliver medical services in partnership with a licensed physician.

• Participate as a member of a multidisciplinary treatment team.

• Record patients’ medical and psychological histories, physical assessments, diagnoses, treatment plans, prescriptions, and outcomes.

• Assess patient behavior to develop diagnoses or evaluate treatments.

• Analyze patient data to identify needs and establish treatment goals.

• Prescribe psychotropic medications in accordance with state regulations and collaborative practice agreements.

• Oversee medication usage, results, patient progress, and responses to treatment.

• Maintain documentation of patient histories and conduct physical examinations.

• Order diagnostic tests and carry out patient assessments.

• Execute treatment plans in conjunction with the supervising physician.

• Educate patients on the medical aspects of their treatment.

• Mentor staff and lead professional development activities and training sessions.

• Gather and prepare patient histories and perform physical examinations.

• Evaluate patients for dosing appropriateness, dose adjustments, phase modifications, and treatment plan alterations.

• Order or conduct diagnostic procedures as delegated by the supervising physician.

• Create and implement treatment plans following established clinical practice guidelines.

• Monitor the effectiveness of therapeutic interventions.

• Provide counseling and medical education to patients.

• Coordinate care with ancillary healthcare providers and facilitate referrals.

• Review laboratory results and medical documentation from other healthcare providers.

• Ensure adherence to medical quality health standards for patients and staff.

• Contribute medical insights into program philosophy, treatment services, and patient care.

• Respond to emergency care providers seeking consultation.

• Collaborate with physicians, clinics, and hospitals involved in patient treatment.

• Attend weekly treatment team meetings and approved seminars and training sessions.

• Build effective relationships with patients, team members, and stakeholders; re-engage patients as necessary.

• Ensure compliance of the treatment center with medical, health, and safety accreditation standards.

• Adhere to accrediting, federal, state, and local regulatory requirements.

• Assist with tasks identified by Senior Management.

⛳️ Requirements

• Master’s degree.

• Certification/license as an Ohio Certified Nurse Practitioner (Kentucky preferred).

• Psychiatric certification is mandatory.

• D.E.A. licensure as required by BrightView.

• 1 to 3 years of relevant work experience preferred, particularly with knowledge of substance use disorder treatment.

• Must operate in accordance with Ohio Board of Nursing regulations, the Revised Code, and SBHI policies and procedures.

• Basic understanding of drug/alcohol abuse and addiction.

• Up-to-date knowledge of drug abuse and treatment options, especially regarding Substance Use Disorders, including Opioid Maintenance Treatment.
