Nurse Practitioner – Psychiatric Mental Health

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ohio.

📋 Description

• Deliver psychiatric mental health medical services in partnership with a licensed physician.

• Act as a member of a multidisciplinary treatment team.

• Record patients' medical and psychological histories, physical assessment results, diagnoses, treatment plans, prescriptions, and outcomes.

• Assess patient behavior to establish diagnoses and evaluate treatments.

• Analyze patient data to identify needs and set treatment goals.

• Write prescriptions for psychotropic medications as allowed by state regulations and collaborative practice agreements.

• Monitor medication use, outcomes, patient progress, and responses to treatment.

• Conduct physical examinations and order or perform diagnostic tests.

• Evaluate the suitability for dosing, adjustments, phase changes, and modifications to treatment plans.

• Collaborate with the supervising physician to develop and implement treatment plans.

• Educate and counsel patients regarding the medical aspects of their treatment.

• Coordinate care with ancillary healthcare providers and facilitate referrals.

• Review lab results and medical documentation from other healthcare providers.

• Ensure compliance with medical quality, health, safety, and accreditation standards.

• Contribute medical insights into program philosophy, treatment services, and patient care.

• Provide consultations to emergency care providers as needed.

• Work in collaboration with physicians, clinics, and hospitals involved in patient care.

• Attend weekly treatment team meetings, seminars, and approved training sessions.

• Mentor staff and lead professional development and medical education initiatives.

• Establish professional relationships with patients and team members, re-engaging patients as necessary.

• Adhere to accrediting, federal, state, and local regulatory requirements.

• Assist with tasks designated by Senior Management.

⛳️ Requirements

• Master’s degree.

• Ohio Certified Nurse Practitioner certification/license.

• Psychiatric certification/license is mandatory.

• D.E.A. licensure as required by BrightView.

• 1 to 3 years of preferred experience, ideally with knowledge of substance use disorder treatment.

• Practice in compliance with Ohio Board of Nursing regulations, the Revised Code, and SBHI policies and procedures.

• Fundamental understanding of drug/alcohol abuse and addiction.

• Up-to-date knowledge of substance use disorders, including Opioid Maintenance Treatment.

• Capacity to provide services within the limits of education, training, and expertise.
