Nurse Practitioner – Psychiatric Mental Health

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ohio.

📋 Description

• Deliver medical services in partnership with a licensed physician.

• Engage as part of a multidisciplinary treatment team.

• Record patients’ medical and psychological histories, physical evaluations, diagnoses, treatment plans, prescriptions, and outcomes.

• Assess patient behavior to create diagnoses and evaluate treatments.

• Analyze patient information to identify needs and establish treatment goals.

• Prescribe psychotropic medications in accordance with state regulations and collaborative practice agreements.

• Oversee medication use, results, patient progress, and responses to treatment.

• Maintain documentation of patient histories and conduct physical examinations and assessments.

• Order diagnostic tests and carry out delegated diagnostic procedures.

• Execute treatment plans in collaboration with the supervising physician.

• Educate patients on the medical aspects of their treatment.

• Mentor staff and facilitate professional development initiatives.

• Create and deliver training content on medical topics pertinent to substance use disorders and general health.

• Evaluate the suitability of dosing, dose adjustments, phase modifications, and treatment plan revisions.

• Monitor the effectiveness of therapeutic interventions.

• Provide counseling and medical education.

• Coordinate care with ancillary healthcare providers and facilitate referrals.

• Review laboratory results and documentation from other healthcare providers.

• Ensure adherence to medical quality, health, and safety standards.

• Contribute medical insights to program philosophy, treatment services, and patient care.

• Consult with emergency care providers.

• Collaborate with physicians, clinics, and hospitals.

• Participate in weekly treatment team meetings and approved seminars and training sessions.

• Establish effective relationships with patients and team members, re-engaging patients as necessary.

• Ensure compliance of the treatment center with accreditation standards.

• Adhere to accrediting, federal, state, and local regulatory requirements.

• Assist with tasks identified by Senior Management.

⛳️ Requirements

• Master's degree.

• Ohio Certified Nurse Practitioner.

• Psychiatric certification is mandatory.

• D.E.A. licensure as required by BrightView.

• 1 to 3 years of experience preferred, ideally with familiarity and understanding of substance use disorder treatment.

• Practice in alignment with the Ohio Board of Nursing regulations, the Revised Code, SBHI policies and procedures, and relevant regulatory standards.

• Basic knowledge of drug/alcohol abuse and addiction.

• Current understanding of substance use disorder treatment, including Opioid Maintenance Treatment.

• Ability to deliver medical services within the boundaries of education, training, and expertise.
