Nurse Practitioner - National After-Hours Team - Part Time - IA Licensed

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Iowa.

📋 Description

• Act as the primary support for residents and facility staff during after-hours.

• Offer guidance and medical assistance over the phone.

• Utilize Curana’s telephonic platform for making and receiving calls.

• Facilitate care coordination among facilities, hospitals, and clinics.

• Provide high-quality, cost-efficient care that addresses acute, chronic, and behavioral health requirements.

• Collaborate with physicians and specialty providers for comprehensive care.

• Conduct thorough assessments.

• Accurately and comprehensively document encounters in the EMR while adhering to CMS requirements.

• Implement clinical protocols and practice guidelines to support treatment in situ.

• Conduct telehealth consultations, including evaluations for acute changes, falls, and visits for controlled substances.

• Independently manage multiple calls across various states.

• Engage in mandatory education and training sessions.

• Provide coverage during weeknights, weekends, and holidays for skilled nursing and senior living facilities.

• Work a total of 24 hours per week on a fixed schedule, encompassing weeknight, every-other-weekend, overnight, and holiday shifts.

⛳️ Requirements

• Master’s Degree as a Nurse Practitioner.

• Current unrestricted NP license in Iowa, Missouri, or Ohio; must hold a license in IA for consideration.

• Capacity to acquire additional multi-state licenses, including Illinois, Kansas, Indiana, Minnesota, Nebraska, and Wisconsin.

• National Nurse Practitioner certification as ANP, FNP, or GNP.

• Ability to secure DEA licensure / Prescriptive Authority.

• Experience in managing acute and chronic diseases.

• Clinical expertise in adult, family, or geriatric care.

• A minimum of 3 years of experience as a Nurse Practitioner.

• Capability to attain a collaborative practice agreement, if required in the respective state(s).

• Willingness to adhere to scheduled shifts in alignment with scheduling policies.

• Strong computer skills, including proficiency in documenting medical data in both written and electronic medical records.

• Comfortable handling high call volumes.

• Able to conduct at least 30% of visits via telehealth.

• Availability for overnight and holiday shifts is essential.

• Required to work two 12-hour shifts during holidays each year.

• Visa sponsorship is not available.
