Nurse Practitioner – National After-Hours Team, Part Time

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois, +7 more states.

📋 Description

• Provide telephonic medical guidance and support to residents and facility staff during after-hours.

• Act as the primary support resource during evenings, weekends, nights, and holidays.

• Utilize Curana’s telephonic platform for both incoming and outgoing calls.

• Facilitate care coordination among facilities, hospitals, and clinics.

• Offer care for acute, chronic, and behavioral health issues in collaboration with physicians and specialists.

• Conduct thorough assessments and ensure accurate documentation of encounters in the EMR system.

• Confirm that documentation meets CMS standards.

• Implement clinical protocols and practice guidelines to support treatment in situ whenever feasible.

• Conduct telehealth consultations for acute changes, falls, and controlled substance evaluations.

• Independently manage multiple calls across various states.

• Engage in mandatory training and educational sessions.

⛳️ Requirements

• Master's Degree in Nursing as a Nurse Practitioner.

• Current unrestricted NP license in Iowa, Missouri, or Ohio; must be licensed in at least two of these states for consideration.

• Capability to acquire additional multi-state licenses, including Illinois, Kansas, Indiana, Minnesota, Nebraska, and Wisconsin.

• National Nurse Practitioner certification as ANP, FNP, or GNP.

• Eligibility to obtain DEA licensure / Prescriptive Authority.

• Experience in managing acute and chronic diseases.

• Clinical experience in adult, family, or geriatric care.

• Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Nurse Practitioner.

• Ability to establish a collaborative practice agreement, if required in the relevant state(s).

• Willingness to work scheduled shifts according to scheduling policies.

• Proficient in computer skills, including the documentation of medical information in both written and electronic formats.

• Comfortable handling a high volume of calls.

• Capable of conducting at least 30% of telehealth visits, addressing acute changes, falls, and controlled substance consultations.

• Availability for overnight shifts and holidays is mandatory.

• Required to complete two 12-hour shifts during holidays each year.

• Visa sponsorship is not available.
